Human Archer Empty Human Archer

Post  Quixote Fri Feb 29, 2008 12:43 pm

This guide is pretty much stolen - just want to have it here - especially for YOU, Asharack.....

There are MANY ways to go about building an archer - and you can tweak this suggestion if need be. Just make sure you fully understand the effects and usage of each skill, and how they work together.

I would like you to notice that the skill "Sharpshooter" is EXCELLENT. The discription in-game is incorrect. It actually increases attack accuracy and decreases cast time...

This is easy ATM - wait 'til EPIII comes out and everyone has to re-learn how to build Very Happy

Human Archer Empty Skill Explaination

Post  Quixote Fri Feb 29, 2008 12:43 pm

Magic Arrow: allows you to stun your enemy for 3 seconds.
Why? For archer, time is a very crucial element, 3 seconds is enough for an archer to deal 2000 damage. 2000 may seem little at high lvl but believe me, it does matter.

Chain Action: Important debuff that reduces your enemy’s attack speed, cast speed, and movement speed. This skill is useful both in PvP and boss hunting.
Why? Similar to Heavy Hand, except that it has lower damage.

Burst Shot: an AoE with 300% basic damage at lvl 5.
Why? It is important for both PvE and PvP due to its high damage.

Phoenix: strongest attack skill and AoE of archer, it also deals fire damage.
Why? Similar to Burst Shot.

Forces of Nature: weak damage but has slowing down effect.
Why? It is important for boss hunting.

Animal Soul: the most important buff of archer, because it gives both defense and physical resistance, and basic attack. Physical resistance is what you want from this skill, not the petty defense.
Why? Being a low HP class, archer needs high defense. I cannot say that archer has higher defense than knight or something like that, but it is very important. Imagine like this, a monster deals 1000 damage to you without the buff, with the buff it will be 880 damage because Animal Soul gives you 12% physical resistance which is 120 damage. This skill is also important for GvG because you can use it on your party member.

Power Crossbow/Power Bow: it gives extra basic attack.
Why? Simply because you will hit harder with it.

Snare Shot: an AoE that mass slows monsters for you.
Why? Speed is another crucial element for archer. Snare Shot helps you slow down monsters therefore it prevents you from getting hit. It is also important for boss hunting.

Rock Skin: it gives defense and skill block rate but skill block rate is really what you want from the skill.
Why? It is similar to the explanation for Animal Soul. For instance, you get 28% skill block rate when this skill is maxed. Skill block is important for PvP, not so much with PvE though. For example when you fight someone, if he/she uses 10 skills on you, you will be able to block 3 of them (28% is approximately 1/3).

Sharpshooter: this skill increases your cast-speed for a short instance.
Why? As I said above, time and speed are important for archer. Cast-speed will determine how many skills you can use in a certain amount of time. This skill is very important in PvP.

Soul Breath: it gives both elemental attack and resistance.
Why? Elemental attack helps you hit harder while elemental resistance reduces the damage from elemental attack. Elemental resistance is also very important for PvP and the way it works is similar to physical resistance.

Helpless: A 300% basic damage debuff skill when maxed that reduces your enemy’s physical defense (not physical resistance) and resistances against all elements (except lightning, poison, and cold damage).
Why? This is the opposite skill of Soul Breath. If Soul Breath reduce elemental damage on you, Helpless increase elemental damage on your opponent. Again, the damage calculation works like Animal Soul and Soul Breath (percentage).

Heavy Hand: Another 300% basic damage debuff skill when maxed that reduces your enemy attack speed and cast-speed. The cast-speed reduction is what you want from this skill.
Why? At lvl 5, this skill increases your opponent’s cool-down time by 30 seconds (according to the skill description but I think they mean 30%. Let’s say a person can use 10 skills in 10 seconds. If you use Heavy Hand on him/her, he/she will only be able to use 7 skills in 10 sec. Therefore, it is very important for PvP.

Dash: It increases your movement speed.
Why? In episode 1, it was important in both PvP and PvE. In episode 2, I think it is only important for PvE since archer no longer needs to run in PvP. For PvE, it prevents you from getting attacked by monsters when grinding.

Arrow Hail: This skill is a very unique AoE for archer because it has short range but covers a big area.
Why? This skill is useful for collecting monsters and for pvp if you can max it.

Human Archer Empty LVL 1 - 30

Post  Quixote Fri Feb 29, 2008 12:48 pm

Click for Details
Points Needed: 28
Level Needed: 30

Piercing Shot: 5/5
Magic Arrow: 1/5
Chain Action: 1/5
Forces of Nature: 1/5
Animal Soul: 5/5
Power Crossbow: 4/5
Snare Shot: 1/5
Rock skin: 5/5
Dash: 5/5

Explanation:

If anyone notice, lvl 30 is the limit for PvP in Archlord since episode 2. Since you cannot PvP until lvl 30, this part of the build is designed for pure PvE with just some skill points used on PvP skill. At low lvl, it is extremely easy for archers to grind due to their relatively high defense. Your goal is to max out Animal Soul, Rock Skin, Piercing Shot, and Dash. With Animal Soul and Rock Skin maxed out, you should be able to pull as much monsters as you want (because they only deal 1-10 damage to you) though cannot kill all of them at the same time (the AoE limit is 15 monsters for archer since episode 2). Piercing Shot is simply your only AoE skill until lvl 29 (when you get Snare Shot). In order to grind, it is recommended that you have at least 2 AoE skills when grinding. Dash does not help much during this period since most monsters only deal 1-10 damage to you, but you will need it after lvl 30.

How to grind?

Pull 10-15 monsters with Normal Attack => Run => Snare Shot (when you get it at lvl 29) => Run => Piercing Shot => Repeat from Snare Shot.

OR

Pull 10-15 monsters with Normal Attack => Run around to make them stack together => Stand still and spam Snare Shot (again, when you get it at lvl 29) & Piercing Shot until they die. (I personally don’t recommend this way because the durability of your gears decreases quickly this way).

Human Archer Empty LVL 30 - 45

Post  Quixote Fri Feb 29, 2008 12:54 pm

Click for Details
Points Needed: 45
Level Needed: 45

Piercing Shot: 5/5
Magic Arrow: 2/5
Chain Action: 1/5
Burst Shot: 4/5
Forces of Nature: 1/5
Animal Soul: 5/5
Power Crossbow: 4/5
Snare Shot: 5/5
Rock skin: 5/5
Sharp Shooter: 2/5
Soul Breath: 3/5
Helpless: 2/5
Heavy Hand: 1/5
Dash: 5/5

Explanation:

During this period, you will be getting many new skills like listed above. However, during this time, archer is not very strong in PvP yet because many of the key PvP skill is not fully developed. But then again, this build is planned for PvE before PvP, so most of the skill points are distributed in PvE skills. You will be able to get Burst Shot during this period. Many people prefer to replace Piercing Shot with Burst Shot but I prefer to keep Piercing Shot. The reason why will be explained in a little bit. You will also get new buffs like Soul Breath and Sharp Shooter which are important for PvP, not so much PvE (actually, Sharp Shooter does help in PvE a bit). You will also be grinding inside dungeons if you want fast lvl or outside if you want to be safe and a lot of money. The monsters are stronger now, they no longer hit you 1-10 damage but more, MUCH more especially if you grind in dungeons. If you don’t want to get hit much, uses running speed pot or CC Agility Pot.

How to grind?

Pull 10-15 monsters with Normal Attack => Run => Snare Shot => Run => Piercing Shot => Run => Burst Shot => Repeat from Snare Shot.

OR

(If you have lens stones)
Pull 10-15 monsters with Normal Attack => Run => Snare Shot => Run => Piercing Shot => Run => Burst Shot => Run => Piercing Shot => Run => Burst Shot => Repeat from Snare Shot.

Human Archer Empty LVL 45 - 55

Post  Quixote Fri Feb 29, 2008 1:01 pm

Click for Details
Points Needed: 55
Level Needed: 55

Magic Arrow: 2/5
Chain Action: 3/5
Burst Shot: 5/5
Arrow Hail: 1/5
Phoenix: 4/5
Forces of Nature: 2/5
Animal Soul: 5/5
Power Crossbow: 4/5
Snare Shot: 5/5
Rock skin: 5/5
Sharp Shooter: 3/5
Soul Breath: 3/5
Helpless: 4/5
Heavy Hand: 4/5
Dash: 5/5

Explanation:

By now, everything should be simple to understand. Your goal is just to max out the remaining skill, especially buffs and AoE skills. You will get two new AoE skills, Arrow Hail and Phoenix. Phoenix will replace Piercing Shot. Arrow Hail is for collecting monsters because it can cover a big area. Using Arrow Hail helps you pull faster basically. Again, hit and run tactic. You can grind in Asylum or outside, whatever fits you better. One thing to remember, using CC Agility Pot or running speed pot is a must when grinding.

How to grind?

Same as when you are lvl 30-44 except that you replace Piercing Shot with Phoenix. It’s that simple.

Human Archer Empty LVL 55 -71

Post  Quixote Fri Feb 29, 2008 1:02 pm

Click for Details
Points Needed: 71
Level Needed: 71

Magic Arrow: 5/5
Chain Action: 5/5
Burst Shot: 5/5
Arrow Hail: 1/5
Phoenix: 5/5
Forces of Nature: 5/5
Animal Soul: 5/5
Power Crossbow: 5/5
Snare Shot: 5/5
Rock skin: 5/5
Sharp Shooter: 5/5
Soul Breath: 5/5
Helpless: 5/5
Heavy Hand: 5/5
Dash: 5/5

Explanation:

Well, there is not much left to explain. You just have to max out the remaining skills except Arrow Hail. You can grind in Asylum 2nd and 3rd floors. It is easy to lvl up during this time actually. After lvl 71, it is hard for archer to grind inside Asylum. You will have to go outside after that. Grinding will be a pain in the azz but you have no choice. By the time you are lvl 71, you should know enough about how to grind and PvP. Just keep this in mind; this build is not only a PvE build but also a PvP build if you know how to play it right.

How to grind?

Same as lvl 44-55.

Human Archer Empty EQUIPMENT

Post  Quixote Fri Feb 29, 2008 1:12 pm

In Archlord, equipment is just as important as skill distribution (or build). Unlike other MMO games, gear in Archlord is not all about physical defense. Many people when they first play this game think that if they have high physical defense, monsters will hit them less. It is true from lvl 1-30, but after that you start seeing that the armor isn’t working that well anymore. In fact, lvl 15 armor for archer and lvl 76 one only has 18 physical defense differences while monsters at lvl 76 can probably hit 400+ more damage than the lvl 15 ones. Then how can you survive at lvl 76? There are 5 concepts that you need to know when talking about gears in Archlord: physical resistance, skill block rate, block rate, HP, and elemental resistance. What will be shown below are the most popular and efficient customizations for equipments for archer. By following the information below, you should be able to use your gears for at least the next 16 levels.

CONCEPTS TO REMEMBER

Physical Resistance: usually, you get physical resistance in the form of percentage. The percentage of physical resistance shows on your equipment is the percentage of damage taken away from physical attacks from monsters or other players.
Skill Block: it is similar to the idea about physical resistance but it deals with skills, the higher skill block rate you have, the higher chance you have to block skills. In PvP, skill block rate is even more important than physical resistance. (It’s always better not to get hit at all)
HP: life is a very important factor PvE and PvP. Unfortunately, I don't know how to explain it YET, sorry.
Block Rate: this one is similar to skill block but it only protects you from normal attack, not skills, so it is very important for PvE but not PvP.
Elemental Resistance: this is similar to physical resistance except that it only protects you from elemental attacks.

ARMOR

Stats:
3-4 slots
+% HP (must have, the higher the better, 4-5% is the standard)
+% MP (don’t need, don’t care)
+ Physical Defense (optional, the higher the better)
+% Skill Block (must have, 3% is the standard, prefer 4-6%)

Stones:
3 slots
- Physical Resistance Stone, Life Stone (+ HP), Stamina Stone (+ %HP)
4 slots
- Physical Resistance Stone, Life Stone (+ HP), Stamina Stone (+ %HP), Defense Stone [for PvE]
- Physical Resistance Stone, Life Stone (+ HP), Stamina Stone (+ %HP), Elemental Stone [for PvP]

GREAVE

Stats:
2-3 slots
+HP (optional, the higher the better)
+MP (don’t need, don’t care)
+ Physical Defense (optional, the higher the better)
+% Physical Resistance (must have, the 3% is the standard, but I prefer 4-6%)

Stones:
2 slots
- Physical Resistance Stone, Skill Block Stone
3 slots
- Physical Resistance Stone, Skill Block Stone, Elemental Stone [for PvP]

GLOVES

Stats:
2 slots
Green option doesn’t matter

Stones:
- No stones [PvE]
- Elemental stones [PvP]
*

BOOTS

Stats:
2 slots
+3-5% Block (must have, for PvE)
+2-3% Movement Speed (speed on boots is not very important but you will want to use one that has at least 2%)

Stones:
Same as Gloves

HELMET

Stats:
1 slot
+6-8 All Stats (must have)
+0-4% All Elemental Resistance (optional, it is very hard to find a helmet that has both ALL STATS and ALL ELE RES)

Stones:
Same as Gloves

NECKLACE

Any kind of necklace should work for PvE, the type of the necklace is usually dependent on PvP. For example, if you PvP against an archer, you would want to use a Fire Necklace due to their strongest attack, Phoenix.

Stats:
1 slot
+6-8 All Stats (must have)
+2-6% All Elemental Resistance (optional, recommended to have at least 2%)

Stones:
Any kind of wing should work.

RING

Transcendence Ring

Stats:
1-2 slots
+5-8 all stats

Stones:
HP recovery stone

Notes*: Many people wonder what elemental stone they should put in their gears. I cannot decide what to tell you. People usually use fire stone against archer, water stone against mage, sorcerer, and ranger, and so on… My suggestion is, look at your opponent’s weapon to see what color it is glowing then use the stone of that element in your gears. However, if you decide to put only 1 type of element in your gears, you will be very strong against that elemental, but very weak against all others. So you decide what stone you should put.
